ODAP’s Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies offer a new, contemporary visiting experience, showcasing sites and exhibits through interactive digital visualizations and panoramic tours that bring culture closer to the visitor.
Through ODAP’s mobile application, visitors can enjoy a complete digital experience that combines VR and AR technologies. The VR tour offers a pioneering guided experience of the Acropolis of Lindos, showcasing the site and its monuments within a fully reconstructed digital environment, while in parallel an AR application brings five monuments to life in selected archaeological sites: three-dimensional reconstructions in their original colours are overlaid onto the actual remains, allowing users to see how they looked in antiquity. In this way, history “comes alive” both on site and from anywhere in the world, offering a contemporary, engaging and educational visiting experience.
Digital Guide’s Locations
ODAP’s digital guide, available through the mobile application, acts as a personal companion for visitors across 40 archaeological sites and museums, offering the possibility to explore at their own pace with audio tours in 8 languages and in sign language. Featuring thematic routes, detailed descriptions of monuments, rich audiovisual material and interactive maps, it tailors the experience to each user’s interests, highlighting in a clear and engaging way the history, architecture and hidden aspects of every site.
